莲雾，有“水果皇帝”之称，在中国南方更为常见。含水量超过90%，人称“注了水的铃铛”和“长在树上的矿泉水”。
Known as the “Emperor of Fruits”, the wax apple is commonly found in southern China. With over 90% water content, it’s nicknamed the “water-filled bell” and the “mineral water tree fruit”.
莲雾花花香浓郁，呈亮黄色，海南人有泡茶饮用的习惯。莲雾果实色泽鲜艳，有深红、粉红、绿色、白色等种类。
The wax apple’s flowers, vibrant yellow and fragrant, are often brewed into tea by locals in Hainan. The fruit itself comes in colors from deep red and pink to green and white.
莲雾不甜，口感清淡，却有止咳润肺、凝心安神、促消化等功效。
Though it’s not very sweet, the wax apple offers a refreshing taste and is believed to help soothe coughs, moisturize the lungs, calm the mind, and aid digestion.
